"O WordPress é uma importante ferramenta para a publicação na web pois permite que os coletivos tenham voz e espalhem suas idéias, produções, etc". Esse é o comentário de Cátia Kitahara, webdesigner há mais de 10 anos, sócia do Hacklab, trabalha com WordPress e participa ativamente na Comunidade Brasileira de WordPress. "A comunidade começou com um grupo de pessoas que traduziram o WordPress (CMS). Hoje nossa atuação é difundida em vários lugares do país, são voluntários que ajudam na tradução, moderam o fórum, publicam plugins ou temas", comenta.

Foi Cátia quem organizou o primeiro WordCamp Brasil, em 2009, na Funarte. "Em 2009, aproveitamos a vinda do Matt Mullenweg, criador da ferramenta, para um outro evento. Depois tivemos dois WordCamp's, em Curitiba, no ano de 2010".

Começou no dia 25 e terminou hoje a edição de número 13 do Fórum Internacinal do Software Livre, no Centro de Eventos da PUCRS, em Porto Alegre. As metarecicleiras Lelex e Fernanda Scur articularam um(s) encontro da Rede por lá. E, segue o relato do FISL13 por Lelex:

 

Conversava com Dalton sobre a institucionalização das pessoas dentro das instituições e de como tem ficado complicado a gente se manter em meio a tudo isso. Eu, por exemplo, fui exonerada na calada da noite, sem aviso algum. Mas, isso é outro capítulo, pois o que importa mesmo é entender nosso grau de pertencimento, ou não pertencimento. Com tudo isso, achei a conversa com a Fernanda Scur sobre livre/proprietário essencial. Quando eu tentei fazer alguma coisa nos telecentros de Porto Alegre - onde todos computadores com Linux estão ociosos - a gurizada só queria saber de globo.com e Barbie. Quer dizer, como os monitores se dedicam a despertar a curiosidade dessa meninada ao ponto de não precisar se pautar mais pela tela da Globo? E quero colar a foto do hardware hackeado que Occam tem pendurado (com neon) no pescoço.
