O título do post são perguntas de Julian Assange, em uma entrevista compartilhada por Regis Bailux, a Noam Chomsky e Tariq Ali:

Noam Chomsky: Primeiro de tudo, nós não temos sociedades capitalistas, nós temos uma ou outra variedade de capitalismo de Estado, e isso é verdade onde quer que o sistema industrial funcione. Então, por exemplo, nos EUA o papel do Estado na economia é enorme. Quer dizer, vamos pegar o que nós três estamos fazendo agora. Isso é baseado na revolução tecnológica... Computadores, internet, satélites, micro- eletrônica e assim por diante... Agora, a maior parte disso tudo foi desenvolvida no setor estatal. Na verdade, exatamente onde eu estou sentado, no MIT. Foi um dos lugares onde essas coisas foram desenvolvidas nos anos 50 e 60, a maior parte sob o financiamento do Pentágono. Houve financiamento, subsídio, invenção, criação, também aquisição... Por décadas. Isso no setor estatal antes de serem transferidos para o capital privado para comercialização e lucro.
